.:Yoko:.
A truly international star is rising, so look for Yoki
Nguessan on the horizon! Yoko, of Asian and African
Hertiage, was born and raise in France and currently
living in the United States. The middle child of three,
with an older sister and younger brother-- whom Yoko
declares emphatically is an amazing
dancer-- she began dancing and watching television
show at the age of 5, and began imitating singers
at around 11-12 years old. She was so naturally talented
(and self-taught at the time!), that people began
to notice her & she began performing as a solo
artist in France at the age of 15 years. Yoko taught
herself to play piano and started composing her own
music at only 11 years old. Her main influences are
the strong female ballad singers, such as Christina
Aguilera and Mariah Carey, but her first and foremost
influence was Whitney Houston. Yoko admires Beyonce'
for her captivating and powerful
stage presence, and her strength as a female performer,
but Christina Aguilera has also influenced Yoko for
what she brings to her songs when she performs. She
has been performing professionally in the United States
for 3 years, and studied and performed with Kevin
Gardner for 2 years. She has also performed at the
Multifest in Seattle, twice, with Aaron Carter in
2008, other venues numerous times, and worked with
Domino on a song. Our rising star is a voracious reader
who loves words and simply loves to write anything--lyric
or stories, as in addition to her ever growing stable
of songs, she is currently working on her first full-length
novel. In a few years time, Yoko see herself as an
international star to match her international background,
who will be acknowledged as an important and serious
musical artist. As you can see, she is already on
her way.
Welcome to America Yoko!
