.:WEDNESDEY MOORE:.
Introducing
to the world, the newest teen singing sensation -- Miss
Wednesdey Moore, featured vocalist on Rose’s newest
CD, Life of a Rose, on the tracks “Can I Believe” (which
she co-wrote), “Drop It Low” and “Forever My Girl.”
Born on a (you guessed it!) Wednesday, the second oldest
of seven children, she was named for the day she was
born by her aunt when her mother was at a loss on what
to name her newborn daughter. Born with the talent of
a beautiful voice, inherited from her mother, who is
also a talented vocalist (and so she says, the only
other one who can carry a tune in her family), Wednesdey
was urged to perform for others by her mother beginning
at age 9. She was born in Moreno Valley, California,
moved to Seattle, Washington at 12, then moved again
to North Carolina at 13, and returned to Seattle at
15, where she has lived ever since. This is also when
she made her first recording, an amateur hip hop song
with her brother, who just “shoved her in a broom closet
to keep out the noise of the rest of the house and told
her to sing into the mike.” Even though amateurish,
people who listened to it took great attention of Wednesdey’s
vocals, encouraged her to sing professionally, and she’s
been doing it ever since.
Wednesdey counts among her influences, besides the life-long
influence of her mother, Mary J Blige, India Aries,
Kanye West, Alicia Keyes, Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes,
and most of all, Rose. She enjoys hip hop, but does
not like the current rap sound, and instead enjoys the
underground hip hop movement and “old school rap,” like
Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. Her goal in three years
is to be on television and the radio, performing or
being interviewed! Wednesday wants to continue to keep
growing in music, dramatically improving her skills
in songwriting, singing and live performance – she wants
to be able to know exactly what she is doing – and the
main thing is to make sure she is doing it “properly.”
She loves to write, both lyrics and poetry (which are
truly intertwined), which is one of the main reasons
why she loves music so much, because she can express
her feelings when she writes any way she wants and wit
h no limitations. She likes to listen to all different
types of music, because it expands her knowledge of
music and assists her in being more creative and original.
Although she plays no instruments at the moment, this
is not to say that she won’t learn some time in the
future, as she grows professionally. What does our teen
wonder like to do? What most normal 19 year olds do
– shopping in the malls, hanging out with her friends,
and listening to music. After listening to her contribution
to “Life of a Rose,” let’s simply say: “Wednesdey” is
a day to remember!
